This time, we looked at the problems faced by Japanese education and ways to solve them based on the circumstances of each school.

A teacher’s important job is to have lots of contact with children, understand their growth, and provide appropriate support. This work requires time, wisdom, and accumulated experience. Although it seems to be going against the times, one veteran teacher says he wishes he would be allowed to work on holidays. Depending on the child’s situation, there may be times when you need more time and effort to support your child. On your work day, you may spend too much time on this emergency and your schedule may become overcrowded. In such cases, you can work on holidays and work efficiently by yourself in a spacious staff room. If you spend Saturday and Sunday relaxing with a heavy workload, Monday’s work will only become harder. Considering the psychological burden, veteran teachers said that working on holidays has its benefits.

What is important in Japanese education is to improve children’s learning ability. Children’s academic abilities include reading, writing, and arithmetic. Nowadays, the use of IT equipment and language skills may be added to this. The goal is to raise children who can use this freely. Then, you will use them to improve your knowledge-based problem-solving abilities. Teachers are responsible for understanding each child’s learning progress and supporting them. The abilities of Japanese teachers, who were once highly regarded around the world, are beginning to decline. The reason for this is that there are too many tasks other than improving children’s academic abilities. The weakness of Japanese schools is that there are too many tasks other than improving academic ability. The problem is that the time we spend facing each other is being cut down by miscellaneous tasks. If teachers can spend more time concentrating on children and classes, it may be possible to provide education like before.
